India is planning to expand its energy infrastructure by constructing 15 new overground LNG storage tanks, requiring an estimated investment of Rs 15,000 crore. This initiative will add two weeks of domestic gas storage capacity, complementing the existing 12-day capacity across 20+ tanks. The strategic buffer aims to safeguard domestic industries from global supply chain shocks and price volatility.
